Antioxidants

Antioxidants prevent the oxidation of other molecules and repair cell damage caused by free radicals.

The most effective way to get antioxidants is through your diet rather than supplements. Foods high in antioxidants include:

  •     Legumes and beans
  •     Nuts and seeds
  •     Vegetables – tomatoes, artichokes, bell peppers, spinach, onion, garlic, broccoli, asparagus, eggplant and cabbage
  •     Fruits – berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and red berries), prunes, peaches, grapes, pears and apples
  •     Starches – corn and sweet potato
  •     Green tea
